The Investigations Division provides the primary investigative service and support to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the community.  It is the responsibility of this division to conduct major criminal investigations including homicide, robbery, sex crimes, narcotics, gangs (via the Safe Streets Task Force), and organized crime.  The division's mission is to investigate these crimes, collect evidence, identify the perpetrators, and prepare these cases for successful prosecution.  The division also provides a valuable support role to other law enforcement agencies through the liaison units with the US Marshal, FBI, and the Prosecutor's Office.
