Clerk Beth White Goes Back to School Tomorrow

Broad Ripple High School first yVote! visit this fall

INDIANAPOLIS – Marion County Clerk Beth White heads back to school tomorrow to teach civics to Broad Ripple High School seniors.
This is the first school Clerk White will be visiting this fall through yVote!, an effort focused on giving students the tools they need to be an active part of our democracy. Students learn about the process including where to vote, the ways to vote, and who is on the ballot. They then have a hands-on demonstration where they cast a “ballot” on the county’s voting equipment. Eligible students – those that will be 18 on or before November 8 – can also register to vote.
In addition to Broad Ripple, several high schools have registered for the seventh semester of yVote! including Ben Davis, Warren Central, Pike and Emmerich Manual. There is still time to sign up for the program. Interested high schools contact Patrick Becker at (317) 327-2050 or
Clerk White has visited 22 public, private and charter high schools and registered more than 1,650 eligible students to vote since yVote! launched in 2008. For more information, visit
