Scott Kreider is serving his first term on the Council, having been elected in November 2015 to represent District 23.  Scott is committed to focusing on issues such as public safety, maintaining a balanced budget, economic development, and improving the infrastructure of our neighborhoods. 
He currently serves on the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee, Public Works Committee (past Chair), and Ethics Committee. He is a former member of the Rules and Public Policy Committee, the Metropolitan and Economic Development Committee, the Community Affairs and Education Committee, and the Sign Revision Taskforce.
Scott is a graduate of both Indiana State University and the law school at Indiana University – Indianapolis (now the Robert H. McKinney School of Law).  He is a partner in the law firm of Kreider McNevin Schiff, LLP offering litigation assistance at both the trial and appellate levels as well as business transaction assistance.  Scott has been a practicing attorney since 2001 with experience in both the public and private sectors.  During law school, he was a law clerk for the Office of Corporation Counsel and a hearing officer for Poor Relief Appeals.  He is also a former Deputy Attorney General and a former federal judicial law clerk for two different judges on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.  Finally, he previously served as an Adjunct Professor teaching legal writing at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  
Prior to his election to the Council, Scott served as a member of the Perry Township Advisory Board.  He has been an active Precinct Committeeman in Perry Township since 2010, served as a delegate to the 2014  and 2016 State Convention, served as a Vice Ward Chair from 2014-2016 and as Ward Chair since 2016, and as Assistant Township Chair since 2016.  Scott is also currently President of the Perry Township GOP Club.  He has two children who attend public school in Perry Township.
