The Department of Public Works (DPW) Customer Service section helps determine when city sewers are blocked, where sewers are located, and how to get rid of sewer odors. Citizens in need of these services should contact the Mayor's Action Center (MAC) at 327-4MAC. A township coordinator will conduct an inspection and contact the citizen who made the request.
Sewer Billing & Rates
The Department of Public Works classifies sewer rates into two categories, non-industrial users and industrial users.
Non-industrial users include residential, retail, apartment complexes, etc.
For non-industrial users, the sewer bill is based upon the volume of water consumed by the person or entity being billed, plus a base sewer charge and any allowable taxes.

Industrial users include mostly manufacturers who use water in the process of their production and/or discharge water and sewage into the city sewer system.
Due to the fact that the discharge may contain BOD, TSS, and NH3 volumes that exceed allowable units, some industrial users may pay a surcharge depending on laboratory results of samples obtained from their discharge.
