Tree & Brush Removal

The Department of Public Works controls and removes trees or brush that interfere with safe passage of vehicles, such as when stop signs, traffic signals, or intersections are blocked from clear view.  Frequently, only trimming is required to restore safe conditions for travel.

The Department of Parks and Recreation (Indy Parks) Division of Forestry is responsible for major clearing or trimming of brush that encroaches onto public property such as roadways and sidewalks.  The Department of Public Works may assist in this effort as requested.

Private property owners also have a responsibility to keep vegetation on their property from causing safety problems.
