HISTORYDesigned by Wormhoudt Landscape Architecture of Santa Cruz, CA, the Major Taylor Skatepark opened in 1999. This 15,300 square foot concrete outdoor facility is open year round and is home to several clinics, competitions and special events.

DRIVING DIRECTIONSMajor Taylor Velodrome is located on the Northwest side of Indianapolis, near Marian College. From Downtown IndianapolisTake I-65 North to the 29th/30th Street exit. Go to 30th Street (the 2nd stop light) and turn left. (At this point 30th Street is one-way west). Take 30th Street approximately 1.5 miles to where it merges with 29th Street. (This will be by the Naval Armory.) 30th Street makes a 90 degree turn at that stop light; continue to follow 30th Street to the stop light at the top of the hill. (You'll see the Soap Box Derby track on your right.) Turn right onto Cold Spring Road. Lake Sullivan Sports Complex is about 3/4 mile on your right .- OR -From I-465 take 38th Street east to Cold Spring Road (about 10 or 11 stop lights) to Cold Spring Road. Turn right on Cold Spring Road. Lake Sullivan Sports Complex is located on your left, less than 1/2 mile from the stoplight.-OR- From I-65 SB take the 38th Street exit to first stoplight (Cold Spring Road). Lake Sullivan Sports Complex is located on your left, less than 1/2 mile from the stoplight.
