DESCRIPTION
Broad Ripple Park (est. 1946) borders the White River and has a rich history in the community. In the past, this site has been the home of an amusement park, carousel (now at the Indianapolis Children's Museum), a steam locomotive (now at the Transportation Museum in Noblesville), and it was the location of the Olympic tryouts for swimming in 1924, and 1952.

The park offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages. Programs are generally fee-based, and registration is usually required.

FAQ's/TIPS
What do I need to do to get a dog park pass?
You need to come to the family center office and bring a hard copy of your dog's shot records showing current inoculations against Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, and Bordetella. You need to fill out the application, sign the waiver, and pay the appropriate fees. Passes are sold on the calendar year. You can get an annual pass or a daily pass.

When is your pool open to the public?
The Broad Ripple Park Pool is a seasonal swimming pool open Memorial Day Weekend through August. The pool is closed Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30.  Regular hours begin Saturday, May 31.  Regular season hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 noon – 6 p.m.

What are the fees for admittance to the pool?
Daily admissions are $2 for kids 3 – 17 years of age and $3 for adults. Children two and under are free. Seniors 55 and older are $2. You must pay to enter the pool whether you swim or not.

Do I have to rent the shelters and the picnic knoll ahead of time, or can I just show up and try and claim the location I want?
Park amenities are first come first served unless permitted out ahead of time. Beginning in May and going through the end of October the shelters and the picnic knoll are typically permitted out every weekend. We start taking shelter reservations for the year, the first business day in January. We rent amenities for the day. There are fees involved depending on the amenity that is rented. We post signs inside the display board by each amenity indicating if it is rented for the day or not.
