As funds become available, park planners facilitate the creation of construction documents.  For larger projects, Indy Parks often uses outside design professionals to prepare these documents for bid.

Once a project has been bid, Indy Parks' construction management staff oversee the job from ground breaking to grand opening.

Park Planners at Public Meeting______________

Master Planning

The Indianapolis-Marion County Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan sets the course for all of Indy Parks' property and resource development. Indy Parks operates 206 park properties and 8 Greenways throughout Marion County. Many of these parks have a park master plan, which is developed through a series of public meetings and direct a park's growth over the course of a 10-15 year period.
