LIVE. LEARN. EXPLORE.
With more than 188 parks throughout Indianapolis and Marion County, the Indianapolis Parks' system is one of the largest in the country.  Whether it's an after school program, a symphony concert in the park,  a youth sports activity, volunteer opportunity or just enjoying a stroll on one of the eight greenways, you and your family will find more than one reason to live, learn, and explore your Indy Parks!

MISSION
Indy Parks and Recreation shall provide clear leadership and well-defined direction for enhancing the quality of life for Indianapolis and Marion County residents by providing park and recreation resources and services that:

Provide and/or facilitate quality recreation and leisure opportunities;

Encourage and support natural and cultural resources stewardship and environmental education;

Include safe, clean and well-maintained park facilities for the community's use and enjoyment;

Promote and facilitate mutually beneficial countywide partnerships.

COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP
We manage park property and amenities with the guiding principal of responsible stewardship.  We understand the faith and trust citizens have in us that we will manage our natural resources for sustainability long into the future.  Stewardship means effective planning, on-going commitment and maintenance, and overall care above the minimum required.

PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES
We build collaboration s to meet the growing park and recreation needs of our community.  Building partnerships and alliances provide a way to expand programs and services through community buy-in and mutually beneficial relationships with business, neighborhood groups and community organizations.
