Telecom & Video Services Oversight
The Cable Franchise Board of Marion County is the legislative arm of county government that oversees operation of the Telecom & Video Services Agency and WCTY Channel 16 and Government TV 2. It votes on cable operator matters such as rate increase proposals for limited basic cable programming and associated costs with equipment, such as converters.
The five member board has three appointments via the City-County Council and two representatives appointed by the mayor. Each member servers a two-year term. Other oversight by the Telecom & Video Services Board includes Educational Access Television, cable franchise renewals and compliance of the cable operators in Marion County.
